Xclusive Yachts Is Now Welcoming Pets on Board

  • 26 Oct 2026

For a lot of Dubai households, the dog is part of the family, and leaving them at home while everyone sails off has always felt a bit off. So we are pleased to say that a pet friendly yacht Dubai day is now a real option: Xclusive Yachts is welcoming pets on board. With the cooler months arriving and the sea breeze becoming properly pleasant, the timing could hardly be better.

Why now is a lovely time to bring a pet afloat

Late October is when Dubai starts to ease out of the summer heat. Mornings and late afternoons are far gentler, which matters a great deal for animals, who feel the sun and hot decks more than we do. Evenings out on the water are softer, the skyline glows, and there is a lot less need to retreat indoors.

If you have been waiting for the weather to make a day at sea realistic for your companion, this is the season. Even so, you should still plan around the sun and the temperature of the deck, which we cover below.

Before you book

A little preparation makes the difference between a relaxed day and a stressful one. Here is what we suggest:

  • Tell us in advance. Let our team know what kind of pet you are bringing, the size, and any quirks. That helps us suggest the right yacht and set-up. You can reach us through our contact page.
  • Think about temperament. A confident, sociable animal usually takes to boats well. A very nervous one may need a shorter outing first.
  • Check health and comfort. If your pet gets travel sick in the car, mention it to your vet before the trip.
  • Choose your time of day. Morning departures or a later afternoon sail tend to be kinder than the middle of the day.

What to pack for your pet

Think of it as a small day bag for the family member with the most opinions.

  • Fresh drinking water and a travel bowl. Do not rely on your pet drinking from the sea.
  • A well-fitted harness and a short lead, so you can keep them close when the boat moves.
  • A pet life jacket. For dogs especially, this is the single most useful item you can bring.
  • A familiar blanket or mat, which gives them a spot that smells like home.
  • Treats, and food if the trip is long.
  • Waste bags and a towel for tidying up.
  • Pet-safe sun protection if your animal has light skin or a thin coat.

It also helps to pack a spare towel for the journey home, and a small toy or chew that keeps your pet occupied. Familiar objects make a surprising difference on an unfamiliar surface, and they give you an easy way to redirect attention if your companion gets curious about something they should not.

Settling in on board

Let your pet explore calmly while the yacht is still at the marina. Boats have unfamiliar sounds, textures and gentle movement, and a few minutes sniffing around at the dock helps a lot. Once you set off, pick a shaded, sheltered spot, put their blanket down, and stay nearby.

Engines can be loud on departure, so a reassuring voice and a treat go a long way. Many animals relax quickly once the boat is gliding along and the vibration settles.

Watch the heat

Decks can warm up quickly, even in the milder season. Keep your pet in shade, offer water often, and bring them into the air-conditioned cabin if they seem restless or are panting heavily. If in doubt, cool down first and carry on later.

Keep them secure

Never leave a pet unattended near the edge. Keep the lead on when you are moving about, and take extra care around swim platforms, where wet surfaces can be slippery for paws.

Plan for breaks

Think about when your pet will need a toilet break before you board, and give them a good walk beforehand. A tired, relaxed animal is far more likely to settle down on deck. Agree with the crew in advance where waste bags should go and how best to tidy up, so that nothing needs to be rushed mid-cruise.

Choosing the right kind of trip

For most people, a private charter is the easiest way to enjoy a day with a pet, because the schedule, pace and space are all yours. Our yacht rental options range from compact, easy-to-manage vessels to larger yachts with generous shaded areas, and a bigger boat often means more room for a pet to stretch out.

A calm cruise past the Marina skyline or along the coast is usually better for a first outing than a long, busy day. You can always extend next time once you know how your companion reacts.

Being a good neighbour on the water

Even on a private yacht, a little consideration keeps everyone comfortable. Clean up promptly, keep your pet off cushions and seating if asked, and let the crew know if anything needs attention. If your guests include children or people who are wary of animals, it is worth mentioning that when you book, so the day suits everyone.

A few honest reminders

  • Every animal is different, so go at their pace.
  • Sea conditions can vary, and a calmer day makes for a happier first trip.
  • If your pet is elderly, anxious or has medical needs, speak to your vet first.

Bringing a pet aboard is about turning a lovely day into a shared one. A bit of planning, a life jacket and some shade are really all it takes. If you would like to talk through your plans, or find the right yacht for you and your four-legged guest, get in touch and we will happily help you set sail together.
